Heather and I went back to Cedar Rapids to help out at the UAN shelter last Friday (June 27), and I finally got my photos uploaded last night.  Here are some highlights!

Smokey kitty and his dad, reunited.

Fluffy!

Heather and Miles.  Miles was discovered treading water in his yard by the HSUS rescue crew, but there was no more room on the boat.  Instead of giving up, Miles continued to tread water for 6 hours until the HSUS boat came back to rescue him.

My buddy O’Riley kitty, chillaxin’ in his hammock.  We met on the first night I was there (which was also O’Riley kitty’s first night) when I drove O’Riley over to the equestrian barn shelter from the animal health technology building.  He had been recently bathed, so he was wet and scared and shivering.  I talked to him and held him and fell in love with him.  I went back everyday I was there to spend time with him, and it was harder to tell him goodbye than anybody else.

Sleeping kitten, whose mother cat hissed at me when I got too close.

“Can I has love?”

And finally, my favorite photo of the bunch!
